Privacy Codex
How the Archives regards the sanctity of your data.
Last inscribed: 7 April 2026
I. What the Archives Observes
The Tarot Archives stores information exclusively within your own browser using localStorage. This includes your locale preference, theme selection, and any readings you have drawn. No personal data is transmitted to our servers.
At present, the Archives does not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information. Should this change — for instance, through the introduction of user accounts or analytics — this Codex shall be amended accordingly.
II. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Archives currently uses only essential browser storage (localStorage) to preserve your preferences between visits. No tracking cookies, advertising identifiers, or third-party analytics scripts are deployed at this time.
When third-party services such as analytics or advertising are introduced, the Archives shall present a Cookie Consent notice before activating any non-essential tracking. You will always have the ability to decline.
III. Third-Party Services
At present, no third-party services receive data from your use of the Archives. Card images are served from the public domain Rider–Waite–Smith collection and loaded directly from our servers.
Future integrations — including analytics (e.g. Google Analytics), authentication providers, or advertising networks — will be disclosed in updates to this Codex before activation.
IV. Data Retention and Deletion
All data stored by the Archives resides in your browser's localStorage. You may clear this data at any time through your browser settings, which will remove all saved preferences and readings.
Should the Archives introduce server-side accounts in the future, a mechanism for complete account and data deletion will be provided.
V. Children's Privacy
The Tarot Archives is intended for individuals aged 18 years and older. The Archives does not knowingly collect or solicit information from minors. If you are under 18, please do not use this service.
VI. Amendments to this Codex
This Privacy Codex may be revised as the Archives evolves. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the head of this page. Continued use of the Archives after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
VII. Contact
Questions regarding this Codex or the handling of your data may be directed to the keeper of the Archives at the address published on the site's main page.
